Supertrees at Gardens by the Bay

Gardens by the Bay is a park spanning 101 hectares of reclaimed land in central Singapore, adjacent to the Marina Reservoir. Gardens by the Bay is an integral part of a strategy by the Singapore government to transform Singapore from a "Garden City" to a "City in a Garden". The stated aim is to raise the quality of life by enhancing greenery and flora in the city.

The supertrees are tree-like structures that dominate the Gardens' landscape with heights that range between 25 m to 50 m. They are vertical gardens that perform a multitude of functions, which include planting, shading and working as environmental engines for the gardens.

Hanging Rock

Hanging Rock is a geological formation located north-west of Melbourne in Australia. It is a mamelon, which is a rock formation created by eruption of relatively thick or stiff lava through a narrow vent in the bedrock, which results in a small mound around the vent. Successive eruptions forms a number of layers to create these unique formations.

Hanging Rock is also famous for being the location in the Australian novel and film, Picnic at Hanging Rock. In this story, a group of school girls mysteriously disappear while on a trip in Hanging Rock.
